The Foundation is an independent non-profit group that serves as a vehicle for contributions to support educational achievement in Leland. Much like the "Education Boosters" of years past. The Leland Foundation For Excellence in Education was organized to sponsor projects that enrich the learning environment, stimulate educational achievement, and provide the financial support to make these things happen. Although a separate entity from the school, we work with the school administration and faculty in an effort to provide these elements. The Foundation would like to unite with the community to aid in providing its children with an environment rich in opportunities to learn. Contributions may be treated as charitable deductions for federal income, gift, and estate tax purposes. The Foundation accepts cash contributions of any amount, stocks, bonds, real estate, living memorials, artwork, books, property, or personal time from willing volunteers.
Our Mission
Although we applaud scholarships, we strive to encourage all youth to learn to the best of their own unique ability. While some may learn in great leaps, others may move forward in small steps. We hope to encourage all students to come to the act of learning with open minds and positive attitudes.
A SUCCESS THAT WE ARE PROUD OF: The Leland Foundation has instituted and sponsored a program that recognizes and rewards high school students for increasing their grade point average each quarter. This has proven very successful since its inception-so successful that a similar program for Jr. High students was recently launched.
